Internship Spotlight: Meet Laura Will
Laura is a senior in the Social Entrepreneurship Scholars honors cohort. She is double majoring in finance and accounting and will be graduating in May of 2021. Laura worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP this past summer as an intern within their Audit & Assurance practice, based in their Louisville office.
Laura’s favorite part about her position:
“Although things looked a little different this year since the internship was transitioned to a virtual format, one really cool thing that resulted from this change is that I had the opportunity to work on a couple projects and presentations with interns in other offices that I would never have interacted with, had the internship been in person. I also had the opportunity to meet and connect with senior management and partners both in my office and surrounding offices in the Central region (via Zoom), which I think is really unique and such a great networking opportunity!”
Laura’s advice for other students looking for an internship
“One thing that I heard going through the process last year and can now emphasize myself is the importance of the culture and relationships between coworkers at different firms. Pay attention to this during the interview process, because your colleagues can really enhance your internship/career and are such a large part of why I loved my internship with Deloitte.”
