Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is the premier honors accounting society on the University of Kentucky’s campus, focused primarily on professional development and community service. Every semester, accounting firms from across the region come to campus to present to the organization on a technical topic of their choosing.
Beta Alpha Psi hosts its annual Meet the Firms night in September where our members network with 15+ accounting firms (including all of the Big 4 and most regional firms) on a personal level before anyone else. This event has provided a considerable advantage to our members as they search for internships and full-time positions. Many firms have also been known to host their own private social events for BAP members even before attending formal events like the Career Fair. As a whole, Beta Alpha Psi provides a great opportunity to develop as a professional and join an esteemed network of professionals from across the country.
The organization meets weekly on Thursday’s from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Dues for new members are $100, and then $55 for all returning members per semester. The dues go directly towards weekly catered meals at meetings, outside social networking events, and more.
In order to be eligible for membership you must:
- Have completed only ACC 201 and ACC 202 at UK with an A, are currently enrolled in ACC 301 or 324, and have a 3.4 GPA overall.
OR
- Have completed 3 (three) or more hours in upper division accounting at UK with a 3.2 GPA in upper division accounting and a 3.2 GPA overall.
OR
- Be a current student in the Master’s of Accounting (MACC) program.
