Staff Accountant

CPA Firm located in Sandy Springs, GA (North Metro Atlanta) is seeking full-time, entry-level Staff Accountants. Individuals must possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a STRONG desire to work in public accounting. Staff Accountants mainly focus on learning how to produce the basic client deliverables of the firm during their first year.

We are a small/mid-sized firm that works almost exclusively in the Construction Industry. Our staff and partners are a close-knit group and all staff work very closely with our clients, as well. We offer a dynamic work environment, family atmosphere and a great opportunity for growth.

Some of the basic concepts and duties at this level include:

· Record transactions in journals, classify postings, total and cross- total entries for a period

· Reconcile bank accounts and trace discrepancies

· Reconcile subsidiary accounts and controls

· Learning the following:

o Simple reviews and compilations

o Tax/ Bond Planning

o Fixed Asset Calculations

o Job Costing schedules

o Draft financial statement

o Tax returns

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred

· Pass background and credit check

Pay & Benefits:

Salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 plus paid overtime depending upon experience/education

$2,500 bonus for receiving CPA license while employed with the Firm
