Position Overview:
As a member of the Administration team, the Senior Accountant will be reporting to the Controller. The ideal candidate will perform intermediate level accounting tasks that will lead to a well-rounded accounting role. As an important contributor within a fast-paced company environment, this hands-on position requires a high attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial passion for renewable energy development and a desire to work with clients to transform the way they procure energy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end financial closing processes
- Act as liaison between Accounting and Asset Management team, responsible for all the accounting for owned assets
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules
- Responsible for customer billing and vendor payables
- Complete balance sheet and job cost accounting reconciliations
- Prepare bank reconciliations, credit card processing, and customer billing
- Process accounts payable and manage vendor relationship and disbursement controls
- Administer Dynamics software (construction) as it relates to project costs
- Responsible for completing sales and use tax filings for multiple states
- Support Controller with special ad hoc projects including financial statement reviews/audits, tax returns, Treasury filings, etc.
- Special entity bookkeeping and document retention
Qualifications:
Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing company. In addition, the Senior Accountant must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Highly skilled in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the company
- Ability to organize multiple streams of work, keeping things on track while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
