Accountant/Data Analyst
The Accountant/Data Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for Month-end and Year-end closing processes including journal preparation, intercompany reconciliations, profit center analyses, consolidations, sales tax returns, various ad-hoc analyses and schedules
- Ensures all revenue accounting and reporting is in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements and ensures accurate and timely adoption of new regulations
- Works with the internal and external auditors on an annual, and ad hoc basis including preparation of client assistance schedules, preparation of variance analysis schedules, and preparation or review of ad hoc requests
- Prepare historical sales and expense data for use in the annual budget process. Maintain 3 years of data for use in predicting seasonality of sales and expenses (where appropriate)
- Be the data expert. Extract and compile data as requested to support ad hoc reports requested by sales, operations, customer, management or other related parties
- Calculate and maintain the data necessary to determine commissionincentive pay
- Perform administrative tasks such as e-mail administration, vehicle license renewals, annual insurance renewals, notary services, fulfill customer COI requests, complete government survey forms, etc.
The ideal Financial Analyst / Accountant will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- At least 5 years accounting and financial reporting experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Access
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to new software quickly; familiarity with Microsoft AX system a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
