MiddleGround Capital (“MiddleGround”) is a private equity firm headquartered in Lexington, KY, that invests in B2B companies in the industrial and specialty distribution sectors in the middle market. We are differentiated as true operators who have experience working in and managing businesses that range from the lower middle market to Fortune 500 companies.
Program Overview
Summer Analysts work in person in our Lexington, KY, New York, NY, or Sarasota, FL office and report directly to members of our Investment Team. The program runs June 7 through August 20, 2027.
Our goal is to prepare students for careers in investment banking and private equity through real deal experience. Each Summer Analyst builds their own investment committee (IC) memo and presents it to MiddleGround’s investment professionals. We want to help you land a strong investment banking role, excel in it, and ultimately move into private equity. We look forward to seeing your application!
Key Traits and Responsibilities
- Collaborates and communicates with internal stakeholders, including the broader Investment and management teams
- Maintains a “can do,” excited attitude, and a willingness to learn and be a sponge
- Offers insights on live projects based on coursework in finance, business, or related areas
- Supports Investment Team projects such as IC memos, third-party diligence, and DealCloud organization
- Takes initiative on projects delegated by the Investment Team
- Takes feedback seriously and strives to constantly be improving
Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6
- Undergraduate student graduating in 2029, pursuing a degree in finance, business, management, or a related field
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Excel or exposure to accounting platforms is a plus
- Naturally curious, eager to learn, and unafraid to ask questions
- Able to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation
- $32 per hour (New York, NY)
- $27 per hour (Lexington, KY; Sarasota, FL)
